What are the wedding roles beyond the best man and bridesmaids? For couples with a big family or lots of close friends, there are lots of other roles and responsibilities you can include people on with your big day.

Flower Girl / Page Boy

This is a lovely role to fill at your wedding. From young siblings to friends of the family or if you have a little one of your own, you’ll be able to choose some gorgeous outfits for them and give them as much or as little responsibility on the day as you like. Simply, they can just look cute as a minimum!

Ring Bearer

This is a role usually occupied by a little one or maybe a loved pet or similar. It is great to incorporate into your wedding if you have lots of eager faces keen to be a part of your big day.

Guest Book Captain

If there’s someone who would like to be a part of your wedding but in a more supporting way, then consider making them in charge of the guest book. It is a sociable role so would fit someone who is good with the chitter chatter!

The Welcomer

If you need ‘filler’ roles, then why have a couple of people outside your service to hand out order of services and generally place the ‘welcomer’.

Reader

Whether you’re having a church wedding or civil ceremony, there’ll be the opportunity to have a couple of readings that are close to your heart. Have a think about who these could be as there will be people, who aren’t afraid of public speaking, that’ll be really touched to be asked.

MC

Some venues offer an MC in their package deals, but if you are somewhere that doesn’t, this could be a good role for a commanding friend or family member who can be in charge of timings and ushering people into and out of various places throughout the day. Make sure they’re an organised person!
