Fresh and adaptable to any wedding season, this olive and navy colour palette really is one to watch. The dark hues of the navy are lifted by the different green shades so that it is kept from being solely a winter choice. Coastal or woodland, this palette can be adapted for your location and personal style.

There are many reasons why I love this colour duo and one of them is how adaptable it is as a colour scheme. Whether you’re getting married just off the beach, in a rural church or celebrating in a rustic barn setting, these shades will compliment your day beautifully. The main reason for this is that the navy makes for an alluring foundation to your day, the olive shades create a lighter top coat, if you like, which can be played around with in various ways.

You can adapt this colour palette for a nature-led wedding. Choose an all foliage bouquet – ferns, olive branches, eucalyptus – and have splashes of navy from the fabric around the stem.  Cement your theme by dressing your bridesmaids in floor-length navy (gorgeous!).

If you’re going to be by the sea on your big day, why not go for a nautical stipe feel with the navy with then vases of purely green hues. This looks so fresh and will just fit seamlessly into a costal wedding. One of the best elements about this theme, then, is that it isn’t at all costly in terms of flowers. You can have foliage leading the way, here, with all the many green shades, with splashes of white and cream booms.

Finally, how clever is the wedding cake decorated in blueberries and steams? Such an effective way to use fruit to achieve the colour you’re after and edible too! This is one of my favourite cake decors for a while, wouldn’t you agree?
