The woven together colours of pink and red exude elegance. They feel deep rooted in emotion; passion and love together. They are such a beautiful colour combination for weddings, and are particularly effective in the winter, if you want to escape other cooler shades.

Most flowers are available in either pink or red, which means your options for bouquets, table arrangements and general floral décor are endless. Mostly, it means that you can solely rely on these two shades – rather than having to add in some secondary colours – for your wedding colour palette. No all flower colours are the same, of course, and so choose your types not only in terms of seasonality and look, but also how they complement each other in colour.

This colour theme lends itself very nicely to a floral theme. As mentioned, the bloom colours are such that really anything from invitations to table plans could take on a floral design. Pink and red are so striking together and floral designs and fabrics are one of the best ways to show them off. As we always say, start with the invitation or save the date and continue the theme on all the way to the thank you cards after the big day.

It is also very easy to choose a leading shade from these two colours; a hint of red in a sea of pink or vice versa. Use foliage to help set the tone of the wedding. If it is a winter wedding, then dark green foliage will mirror the dark hues, however if you are saying ‘I Do’ in the summer sun, some light foliage such as eucalyptus would be a delight.
