With autumn in the air – and especially if you are planning an autumn wedding, even a destination one on Cyprus – it’s time to have a look at some of the lovely autumnal décor pieces you can include in your big day. Think less of an autumn theme and more of some subtle autumn touches.
One of the simplest ways of incorporating this lovely season into your wedding day is through the foliage. This means mostly the hues of orange that comes from the leaves and branches of the season. Even though the general temperature in Cyprus is a lot warmer than that of the UK in autumn, you still get a lovely autumnal feel and so these décor choices will mirror the landscape and not look out of place at all.
By choosing an autumnal colour palette for your wedding, you are nodding to the season without forcing a theme. Think of hues of reds, golds, oranges, pinks and have these scattered about your wedding in the form of centrepieces, flowers, signage, outfits and more. One of my favourite décor pieces by far is using red apples as tea light holders. It’s such a simple way of creating a rustic, autumnal feel, without using anything specifically ‘autumn’. Let the colours of your décor choices do the talking.
Finally, the bride can have fun with hair pieces and jewellery for an autumn wedding. A flower crown of real blooms or one of gold metal leaf would set the scene for your day perfectly. It needs only be that; a little touch. So instead of pumpkins and piles of leaves coming to mind when thinking of autumn, let the colours of the season – in whatever form – take center stage.
