Out of all the colours, the sombre shade of black is, on the surface, the least likely colour to dress a wedding in. It can be elegant, though, and so stylish and bold when teamed with other colours. Or it gets combined with white and the popular American B&W look is worked.

Is black a good wedding colour, then? How would you incorporate it into your big day? Here are a few tips of how to wear black right at your wedding, followed by a little inspiration, of course…:

3 Tips for a Black Colour Scheme Wedding

  • Choose one other colour to have alongside black in terms of your wedding theme. This colour should be a good contrast colour, one that will lift the black and set it off.
  • Keep in mind the season of your wedding. Black can be striking, but on a hot summer's day; your efforts might be wasted.
  • Add design and texture to keep the black from being too heavy. Think lace, tissue decorations etc.
